OM Obesity Management

How can you help your cat achieve an ideal body condition?

Weight gain is usually gradual and subtle, but can easily be checked each time you visit your vet practice (or you can weigh your cat regularly at home). The practice can also show you how to monitor your cat’s Body Condition Score. Cats should have a body condition score of 4 or 5 on a 9 point scale. Your cat could be overweight if it’s difficult to feel the ribs when you run your hand over the chest and he/she does not have an obvious waist when viewed from above and the side.

There are 2 ways of ensuring successful weight loss and maintenance:

  • Carefully controlling your cat’s diet and calorie intake
  • Increasing the amount of exercise

PURINA® PRO PLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Feline OM ST/OX Obesity Management is clinically proven to help nutritionally manage obesity and maintain an optimal weight in adult cats. It is low in fat and calories whilst being high in protein to encourage steady and effective weight loss, all the while maintaining muscle mass. Made with high levels of natural fibre and protein, PURINA® PRO PLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Feline OM ST/OX Obesity Management will help your cat feel full and satisfied. It is also highly palatable to help make losing weight easier and once the ideal weight is reached, your cat can stay on this formula to help keep the weight off.

Key benefits of PURINA® PRO PLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Feline OM ST/OX Obesity Management:

  • High protein to help promote loss of body fat whilst maintaining lean muscles during weight loss
  • Low calorie: reduced levels of fat to help reduce the number of calories consumed and promote effective and steady weight loss.
  • Promotes healthy urine composition to help minimise the development of urinary crystals and stones, which are more common in overweight and obese cats

Note that PURINA® PRO PLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Feline OM Obesity Management is not recommended for cats that need a higher calorie intake such as pregnant queens or growing kittens.
