EN Gastrointestinal

What are the signs of gastrointestinal conditions?

The signs of gastrointestinal upsets commonly include diarrhoea, loss of appetite, vomiting and weight loss. Poorly digested food can contribute to the signs so a diet that is easily digested helps your dog get all the essential nutrients to support his/her recovery, while helping to reduce the signs. Up to half of chronic diarrhoea patients may respond to dietary change alone.

PURINA® PROPLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Canine EN Gastrointestinal is a highly digestible complete veterinary diet to help manage gastrointestinal and pancreatic conditions in dogs of all ages, including puppies. Intestinal disorders are frequently associated with poor digestion, which may worsen symptoms, so it contains selected highly digestible ingredients in order to help reduce the workload on the compromised gut and to minimise the amount of nutrients that are not absorbed and remain in the gut.PURINA® PROPLAN® VETERINARY DIETS Canine EN Gastrointestinal is low fat, which is particularly important for dogs with pancreatic conditions, and contains a type of fat that is easier to digest and absorb. It also has omega-3 fatty acids and soluble fibre (prebiotics) to help promote a healthy intestinal environment.

Key benefits of PURINA® PRO PLAN® VETERINARY DIETS EN Gastroenteric:

  • Low fat to facilitate digestion
  • Medium-chain fatty acids, a form of fat from coconut which is easy for dogs to digest and absorb
  • Low residue: easy-to-digest ingredients to help reduce gut workload and minimise non-absorbed nutrients
