Panacur Petpasta is indicated for the treatment of infections by gastrointestinal nematodes in cats, kittens, dogs and dogs. In dogs it is also intended for the treatment of infections by the protozoan Giardia.

Adult cats and kittens – Infections with the following gastrointestinal nematodes:

  • Toxocara cati (adult stages)
  • Ancylostoma tubaeforme (immature and adult stages)

Puppies and adult dogs – Infection with the following gastrointestinal parasites:

  • Toxocara canis (adult stages)
  • Ancylostoma caninum (adult stages)
  • Uncinaria stenocephala (immature and adult stages)
  • Giardia spp.

Active substance: Fenbendazole 187.5 mg / ml

Fenbendazole is an anthelmintic in the group of benzimidazoles carbamates, which alters the energy metabolism of nematodes. The mechanism underlying the anthelmintic action of fenbendazole is the inhibition of tubulin polymerization in microtubules. Fenbendazole is effective against adult and immature forms of gastrointestinal nematodes. The mechanism of action of benzimidazoles, such as fenbendazole, against Giardia spp. it is also based on altering the parasite’s microtubular system. The treated Giardia lamblia trophozoites reveal fragmented ventral discs and deposits in the microtubule system, while flagella appear to be unaffected.

Posology and route of administration:

The veterinary medicinal product must be administered directly into the mouth after feeding, by inserting the paste contained in the injector at the base of the animal’s tongue. Alternatively, the paste can also be incorporated into the food.

Each injector contains 4.8 g of paste, equivalent to 900 mg of fenbendazole. The applicator has 18 grades, each unit corresponds to 50 mg of fenbendazole. The desired number of units is selected by turning the ring on the applicator.

The veterinary medicinal product is suitable for use in dogs and cats weighing less than 6 kg, regardless of age. If the animal’s weight exceeds 6 kg, it will be necessary to administer more than one injector.
